I have been working through a 30 day devotional plan to read Oswald Chamber’s “My Utmost for His Highest.”  Yesterday’s daily reading spoke deeply to me. The devotional is set out of Matthew 6:25-34, where Jesus is talking about not worrying.  In the devotional, it talks about verse 28, “Consider the lilies of the field…” and I was blown away from Chambers words.  “They grow where they are planted.  Many of us refuse to grow where God plants us.  Therefore, we don’t take root anywhere.” Wow.  Those words hit close to my heart.  By nature, I am always looking ahead.  Always looking at tomorrow.  Always looking at the next big thing God could be calling us to, never appreciating this moment.  This moment to be planted and to grow.  To appreciate this season, this here and now. So often, I reflect back and feel a tinge of sadness and regret when I realize how much I did not appreciate the moment, and how I didn’t always embrace those seasons and those moments to grow where I was planted.  Time passes in the blink of an eye. I challenge you, as I challenge myself, to appreciate where God has called you to be in this moment.  Take up root, be a blessing and grow right here and now where you are.  <3
