I transferred to Shannon from another provider. I wanted a natural water birth at home and because I had a previous C-section I had to find a midwife able to help me have a vbac. Shannon was an angel she agreed to work with us even though we were having a rough time financially. She was determined to help us get our vbac. I loved that Shannon was able to make home visits and she made our experience a great one. When it came to labor Shannon helped me stay relaxed and confident. Unfortunately there was a threat of rupture and I had to go to the hospital for a c section but I do not regret trying for a home birth and I loved every minute of my 14 hours at home. Thank you so much Shannon for giving me my natural home birth experience from me and my family! <3  Ashley, Pearland, mother of Sophie born on March 21, 2013

I am extremely blessed to have Shannon as my midwife. She took me as a patient even though I was already 35 weeks pregnant. Shannon is a sweet, kind, caring person. She knows birth so very well. Shannon took great care of me during our prenatal visits. She explained everything to me in detail. She was never pushy or intrusive. I love how i could text her at anytime and get a quick response. Going into my birth I knew exactly what to expect. Shannon trusted my body to do its work through my 31 hour labor. I had a couple of small complications which Shannon took care of very quickly. I felt completely safe in her knowledgeable, loving care. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to birth in my own home on my own terms.Cynthia, Houston, mother of Samuel born on March 22, 2013

I can’t thank Shannon enough for her patience, knowledge and encouragement throughout my second pregnancy and what was a long, relatively difficult birth (for me). I had a challenging first birth because of an on-call OB who wasn’t interested in simply waiting for baby girl to be born naturally. Thankfully, she fully moved into a better position and got me fully dilated when the doctor was coming in with c-section paperwork, so he “let” me deliver vaginally. But it was a scary moment for me. After having dreams of a home birth (which trust me, wasn’t on my mind beforehand!!), I called Shannon and after meeting with her decided God had led us to the right person. Shannon helped me to stay positive during a 34-hour labor. She had me try lots of techniques and positions to get Baby #2 to turn his head so he could get me fully dilated, and once he finally did, she helped me get through a very painful cervical lip (a condition that sent some of my friends into c-sections in their hospital births) with patience, massage, manual movement and various oils. By far the most difficult part of the labor and birth, I’m so blessed that I chose Shannon as my midwife because I am SURE that had I been in a hospital, the doctor would have cut me open immediately–not just because of convenience but because honestly most OBs have little experience with natural, unmedicated births. They don’t know the norm, so they don’t know when something is abnormal in one. But Shannon does. And after 34 hours, and 13 minutes of pushing, we have our first son! Born at 8 lbs, 14 oz, and 22 inches long, our John Paul is our greatest reason we love Shannon and can’t wait to have her at our next birth! ?  Laura, Pearland, mother of John Paul born on January 30, 201

It was both a pleasure and an honor to work with Shannon to welcome my fourth child, Samuel, into the world. Shannon is truly a gifted midwife. My 3 oldest children (9, 8, and 3 at the time of Samuel’s birth) were hospital born and while each experience was pleasant, I wanted something different for this pregnancy and ultimately decided on a homebirth with Shannon. Shannon’s passion for what she does is evident in every interaction with her and she is wise beyond her years when it comes to the birthing process. I especially appreciate the care and concern she showed not only to/for me and my unborn son, but to my whole family. Most office visits were a family affair and she patiently addressed countless questions and concerns from us all, to include my husband, the nurse. Shannon didn’t just tell me what I should or shouldn’t do; every moment was a teaching moment so that we could make the best decisions for our family. Samuel’s birth day will forever be etched into our family’s story in that everyone participated in the process. Most memorable is the fact that my 8 year old daughter was allowed to help “catch” her baby brother and my 9 year old son got to “cut the cord” something that they both will never forget. Thank you Shannon for the amazing birth experience! LaTesha, Pearland, mother of Samuel born on April 18, 2013

Finding Shannon during my sixth pregnancy was a gift from God. She was so patient and comforting with me. I never felt like a burden or inconvenience to her. God answered our prayers with Shannon in mind for our midwife. She has wonderful patience and calmness with her patients. Shannon is very knowledgable, very intelligent when it comes to pregnancy. This was my fourth baby and I learned so much more then my previous births and they were all with midwives. I am so thankful for Shannon and how great she is with my children, memories were made because of her love of family and children involved with the care of her patients. My last month of pregnancy was a nagging one and she was always there to answer questions and I never felt I was a burden to her. When labor came she was attentive and respected our needs and concerns. I really liked the fact that at the post partum appointments the baby is looked at along with the mother. I look forward to having Shannon as a midwife for any future babies we have. God has lead her to do amazing things for these mamas. Can’t wait to see how her business grows with her future clients. I had Shannon for my midwife during my second pregnancy. I felt comfortable with her right away. She always explained all of my options to me and I was able to make all of my own decisions without any judgement from her. I looked forward to prenatal appointments with her – we talked through all of my concerns, fears, and excitement. As labor came, she encouraged me so much! I had a very rough labor and especially long pushing stage but Shannon was reassuring and gave me strength. My baby girl was born on November 19th, 2012 at 9 lbs 6 oz. I know that without Shannon, my birth experience would not be as blessed as it was. After birth she stayed by my side physically & emotionally and made sure I was taken care of. I was treated so well throughout my entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I could not have asked for more. Shannon will always be my midwife and a very true friend. My second experience with Shannon was great! This time around it was more personal and more educational for me. She is not only my midwife but she truly is a great friend! She was strong and caring through my crazy VBAC birth of a 10 lb baby girl! Very supportive and knowledgeable throughout my entire pregnancy and postpartum care! I feel truly blessed to have met such a faithful, smart and experienced mom, friend…midwife! No hesitation, should our family welcome another addition, mind you not for quite a while, Shannon will be our midwife, gladly, again! Samantha, Pearland, mother of Channah born on July 14, 2012

Clients2I had Shannon as my midwife with my forth baby and first natural delivery. I loved my experience. Shannon listened to my concerns and set my mind at rest. I always felt free to make my own choices. When I was unsure I trusted Shannon’s knowledge and humble confidence. I had three hospital births pain free with epidurals and I absolutely prefer my natural experience with Shannon over them all. I would love to have Shannon deliver my next baby. A Year Later: Tomorrow will be to busy so I wanted to share today. A year ago tomorrow you helped bring this miracle into the world. I loved my experience but today I think about hers. As she entered the world for the first time she wasn’t taken away from her mother, stuck with needles, or bruised by forceps. Every time I see her her crown I am filled with good memories of her birth. With my other two before her born at the hospital I had bad memories. I am so thankful for you. You will always hold a place in my heart. After that day I have considered birth beautiful. Sharon, Deer Park, mother of Chloe born on August 5, 2011

Clients1It’s been one year since the birth of fourth child and as I reflect on my pregnancy and labor, I am so grateful for the care I received. From the time I first met Shannon I felt very comfortable around her which is so important when seeking a midwife. During my appointments I felt like I was chatting with a friend rather than reporting to a doctor. Shannon was eager to listen to my concerns, my excitement and even my complaints. The day labor came she was there to encourage me and made sure my baby was doing well. I remember every so often she would come ask me if she could check the baby’s hear rate. How nice to be asked instead of being constantly monitored by an uncomfortable belt attached to a machine! I remember having a hard time going through transition and I had my eyes shut. I opened them for just a second and Shannon was right there and she looked me in the eye and said, “you can do it!” Just a few minutes later Ivy May was born into this world weighing 6lbs. 4oz. That day the Lord blessed me with a beautiful sweet girl but I also gained a friend! Courtney, Pearland, mother of Ivy born on May 19, 2011
