The particular perks and benefits for the purposes of this ointment is coconut oil’s natural antimicrobial, anti-fungal, antibacterial and soothing qualities. Raw beeswax is known to be an effective salve for aches and pains, as well as raw beeswax naturally helps your body lock in its own moisture. Beeswax also is an anti-inflammatory. Vitamin e oil helps protect rough, dry, and/or chapped skin. It works in conjunction with raw beeswax to help lock in the body’s natural moisture. Melaleuca essential oil has many known purposes, one of the biggest being to heal wounds. It is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, as well as encourages tissue regeneration. Lavender essential oil is known for its soothing properties. It also has anti-septic and anti-fungal properties and is known for helping with pain. Lastly, we have lemon essential oil. Homemade Anti-septic Ointment
2 Tablespoons Raw Beeswax (use either the pellets or grate beeswax from a bar)
1 Cup of Coconut Oil
1/4 Teaspoon Vitamin E Oil
20 Drops Melaleuca Essential Oil
15 Drops Lavender Essential Oil
10 Drops Lemon Essential Oil
1. Melt the coconut oil and beeswax in a small saucepan, stirring occasionally. You are stirring until the oil and wax are fully melted.
2. Once melted, take off heat. Mix in vitamin e oil, followed by the essential oils.
3. Slowly pour into container. This amount will yield 2- 4oz containers.
4. Leave to sit uncovered, until cooled and hardened. Once cooled and hardened, store in a dark, cool place. Will last years if stored properly.
